Mobile device designers

Is there a subgroup within this community of people who work only on mobile device design?  If not, can we create one or organize one?  I'm glad to do my part.  Or if there's one that already exists (locally) I'd be glad to join it.  Thanks for the feedback.

Research tools for mobile devices? (software & hardware)

Can anyone recommend any software/hardware that they have heard of, or have experience with, as far as conducting user testing on mobile devices, i.e., tablets and smartphones?

I am wondering what's out there and what seems to be well reviewed or popular.

Examples of iOS and Android apps for industry use

I'm looking for examples of mobile applications, preferably for iOS and Android operating systems, for use in industrial settings, as opposed to consumer applications. I'm especially interested in tablet applications, but would love to see smartphone examples as well. Apps used for realtime geographical tracking, data logging, workflow, job tasking, and inventory tracking are the types of things I'm interested in. Tools for military, law enforcement, and emergency services would also help.

Android Usability

Hi, I'm looking for some information on android usability.  Specifically, I'm curious about how successful the basic navigation of android devices are using the back, option, home and search buttons.  Some device manufacturers choose to modify the standard android navigation framework for their products and remove standard android buttons.  I'm not sure if device manufacturers are doing this because they believe standard android is inadequate and they need to fix it or they are just looking for a way to differentiate.

UI Library for Web Apps for Touch Devices

Hello All,

My team was researching on UI libraries for designing a Web app for touch devices specifically the iPAD, iPhone and the Android.

One product we landed upon was the Sencha Touch that provides the look and feel which makes web apps look native on the Apple iOS and the Android touchscreen devices.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using this framework and if you can share the pros and cons of using it?
