As designers and UXers you’re often asked to show off what you’ve made at work. Lucky you! Because giving a demo or a presentation makes you more visible to your colleagues, gives you great networking opportunities and can help further your career.

In this workshop, Christine and Elisabeth will help you leverage this benefit by teaching you how to master both the humble demo and the menacing conference talk through some tips and techniques for how to design your presentation and how to use your voice and your body language to your advantage.

They will also talk about how to avoid letting your nerves get the better of you, and then you get a chance to try out these techniques with PowerPoint Karaoke, a game where you will give a presentation about a random topic that you dont know beforehand.

About the presenters

Elisabeth Whiteley is a consultant from Apparat, working as a frontend developer on an ongoing project at Equinor. Her role allows her to regularly present new features and functionality to users, making her a key part of the user experience.

Christine Smith-Johnsen, also from Apparat, is a backend developer on the same Equinor project. Her prior experience in academia, where she delivered numerous presentations, has enhanced her ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively.

Together, Elisabeth and Christine have delivered talks and conducted workshops on presentation techniques, catering to both small groups and larger audiences.
