A panel discussion on the topic of Culture & Sustainability with Afrikan voices chaired by Bruce Snaddon (CPUT).Panel members: Prof Richie Moalosi (University of Botswana); Ralitsa Debrah (KNUST, Ghana); Marcel Maré; Saki Mafundikwa (Zimbabwe Institute of Vigital Arts). As designers we are always oriented towards practices, actions and doings. In this, the political and always incomplete project of ‘negotiating what matters’ must be engaged with in ways that openly question boundaries, exclusions, and accountability of doing design that is ethical and sustainable in the long-term. How do we as educators, researchers and practitioners in an Afrikan context, liberate and challenge our pedagogy and curricula to negotiate what matters in these ways?
