In this session, we will analyze common principles for designing ethical AI applications and will explore examples from the web integrating these principles in AI products. We discuss the examples and identify opportunities for improvement.

Dr. Johanny Pestalozzi is a professional UX & Human-Centred AI Interaction Designer, Researcher & Project Manager. Over the last 11+ years, she has worked across research, IT, nonprofit, and startup sectors. She is passionate about designing human-centered AI interactions, solving complex problems, and continuously accomplishing goals to deliver business value.
Pestalozzi holds a Ph.D. with a specialization in Technological Risk Perception & Risk Governance from the University of Hohenheim in Germany, developing a thesis understanding factors that influence people’s perception & acceptance of new technologies, and reflecting on sociotechnical requirements that surround technological developments. Risk perception contributes to societal demands on ethical AI, and it is essential for successful and people-centric innovations.
