Janna DeVylder

Janna DeVylder CO-FOUNDER, PRINCIPAL & DIRECTOR MELD STUDIOS. Janna is an experienced researcher and designer with a background in psychology, social science and anthropology. Her work focuses on humanising products and services, defining the strategic plan, and positioning of products and services down to the most detailed of interactions within them. Janna has had the privilege to lead design work across many industries, designing for both the customer experience and the organisational experience. Janna served as President of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) Board of Directors, as well as the Co-Chair of the global Interaction Awards.
After a year-long journey of working through existing Australian legislation, Meld Studios recently transitioned to being Employee-Owned by Trust. This is a huge milestone in Meld’s story, and in Australia’s company ownership story. In this chat, we’ll explore the motivation and implications for doing so, and how it leads to ensuring the sustainability of Meld’s mission of improving the everyday lives of people as they interact with the world around them. This is truly a story of transformation and solidarity.
