To address the issue of excessive fashion waste worldwide, we started the project ‘Upstyle’, which is capable of upcycling and revitalizing old clothes, and therefore slowing down disposable behaviors. This program is currently incubated at Harvard Innovation Labs and is expected to be launched in 2024.
Upstyle is an image-assisted text-to-image AI tool that empowers users to design fashion pieces with greater precision. By leveraging the GenAI power, users can conveniently discover and generate fashion styles from a well-organized archive and the trained AI model, which eliminates common user hassles like extensive browsing, downloading, and uploading efforts. Upstyle, has the potential to revolutionize sustainable fashion design by creating a streamlined circular ecosystem focused on smooth and cost-effective customization processes.
