Keynote: Research as co-development: Rethinking our participants as product stakeholders
UX researchers bring user voices to product development cycles. A shortcoming of our practice is that while user feedback is taken into account by development teams, research participants are rarely given visibility into the process they are helping inform. This is a missed opportunity for companies with highly engaged users. This talk will discuss ways to more deeply involve users throughout the product development cycle. Shifting from research participants to product stakeholders enables new opportunities for co-development, where users aren’t just sharing their experiences and needs, but also helping teams make decisions and taking active ownership over the products they use.
